Alexander Alexandrov is senior manager for strategic partnerships at the European Council on Foreign Relations, based in the Sofia office.
Alexandrov has more than 15 years of professional experience in preparing, managing, and implementing EU funded projects in developing countries, including in south-east Europe, the eastern and southern neighbourhoods, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and China. Alexandrov also has considerable experience in policy analysis and research. His main interests are conflict and crisis resolution and geopolitical developments, with a special focus on religious terrorism and extremism in the Middle East and central and south Asia.
Alexandrov holds a PhD in political science from the New Bulgarian University, Sofia. He also holds an MA in international relations from the same university and a BA in international relations from the University for National and World Economy, Sofia.
