The goal of the event is to bring together Sofia stakeholders - local authorities, schools, prosecution, NGOs etc. - and discuss problems that they face when dealing with human trafficking of young people and risk groups. Among the topics to be discussed are: what prevention practices are common in Sofia, are they efficient, and which are the local authorities', social services', schools', NGOs' etc., weak points when dealing with human trafficking. The main part of the discussion will be dedicated to new mechanisms for human trafficking prevention with the active role of young people at risk.
The event is part of the project Community Action to Prevent Trafficking of Vulnerable Youth in Bulgaria - YOUTHACT, whose aim is to include groups at risk (young people between 15-29) in the development and implementation of human trafficking prevention programs. The activities will take place across five cities in the country, Blagoevgrad, Vidin, Silistra, Sofia and Shumen.
