The European Court of Human Rights in the National Legal and Political Order

The conference will be the final event within the JURISTRAS project and will present the main findings of the studies done in nine European countries. The overall purpose of JURISTRAS was to study human rights litigation and domestic processes of implementation of ECtHR judgments, as the same time assessing their impact on the legal norms, institutional structures and policies of states that are parties to the Convention. The following countries were selected as case studies: eight EU Member States (Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, and the UK) and one EU candidate country (Turkey). Centre for Liberal Strategies done the research on Bulgaria and produced several scientific and policy reports.
