European Council on Foreign Relations

The European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) is an international think tank that conducts independent analyses on European foreign and security policies and creates an environment for dialogue and the exchange of ideas between politicians, experts, and civil society activists.

ECFR builds coalitions for change at the European level and invests in informed debate on Europe's role in the world. The think tank offers analysis from a pan-European perspective on the most important strategic challenges and choices facing European citizens, thanks to its team spread across offices in many European capitals - Berlin, Warsaw, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome and Sofia. The local offices of the ECFR create the conditions for a common debate in different parts of the EU, while at the same time giving a chance for mutual understanding of national specificities in the perception of common European policies and challenges.

The Sofia office of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) was established in October 2007 to engage the Bulgarian political community in discussions on European foreign policy issues. The ECFR team publishes analyses, organises public seminars, lectures and conferences, contributes to the formation of a shared European space and to the elaboration of common EU policies for the global world.
