The future Europe in the context of internal and external challenges

The series of seminars and public lectures " The Future of Europe in the context of internal and external challenges" aims to discuss the current situation in the EU and possible options for future policies.

The aim of the programme is to help rationalise the debate, present and discuss existing positions and analyse the current crisis and its policy implications.

The Future Europe Seminar Series builds on and relies on the experiences and lessons learned from the Europe at Risk 2.0, Europe at Risk and Periphery at Risk discussion series successfully held by the same organisations between 2012 and 2015.

The strategic objective of Future Europe in the context of internal and external challenges is to develop policy recommendations and risk scenarios based on the discussions. Another positive outcome of the programme will be a better-informed public debate on the intractable problems facing almost all European citizens.

In the first seminar of the series on 30 May 2016, we tried to draw up "Visions for a Future Europe" against the background of the current divisions in the light of a possible major realignment of the Union.
